Oh, how we’ve missed that Mickey Haller…between his charm, his wit, the way he talks to Los Angeles prosecutors, and the way he lies to get his clients off the hook – who have a disturbing habit of pleading guilty – the world’s sexiest lawyer. The West Coast knows how to entertain us.
And that’s exactly what delights Netflix subscribers who two years ago discovered The Lincoln Defense, an adaptation of Michael Connelly’s novel series, which also had the rights to a film version directed by Matthew McConaughey.
With its ultra-serial aspect, which we see more often on television than on streaming platforms, it manages to reach a large audience.
But who killed the glory days?
This Thursday, October 17th, Netflix will release Season 3 of The Lincoln Defense online. A full season, unlike the previous one, which was split into two parts. And it’s much better.
Even if the stomach is always a little soft, the series includes enough twists, revelations and twists to keep us entertained for more than 10 episodes. And this season 3 risks being a lot of them.
The screenwriters chose to adapt the 5th volume of Mickey Haller’s collection this time, which is called “The God of Judgment” which sees our lawyer face-to-face with the ghosts of his past. He actually investigates the murder of Gloria Dayton, the prostitute he protected in season one.
An opportunity to delve into an old case that is closely related to a lawsuit he won a few years earlier, and which involves a new character played by the brilliant Holt McCallan (Manhunter).
One thing is clear: Mickey Haller is often physically abused. When we’re not shooting, we’re hitting, when we’re not hitting, we’re robbing the house… and the third season stays in that mindset. Summary: If you liked the previous two seasons, you’ll like this one even more.
You will see how a lawyer who dreams of far-reaching plans to find the culprit and acquit his new client. And that’s exactly what we love about The Lincoln Defense and what makes it one of the best legal series on the platform.
