Gustavo Gayer calls Caiado a ‘scoundrel’ and Michelle replies: ‘He will never be Bolsonaro’

Federal MP Gustavo Gayer (PL) posted a video this Sunday, 27th, with attacks on the governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil), who he defined as a “scoundrel”. The lawmaker said it was “impossible to support this governor, who is not right-wing at all.”

Without providing evidence, he accused the head of the state executive of being involved in the Federal Police (PF) operation that targeted him last Friday, the 27th, on charges of misappropriation of resources from parliamentary quotas.

Gayer insinuated Caiado’s involvement in the case that concerns him because two days earlier the governor of Goiás had met with the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes, who denounces the action against the deputy. Before that, the governor had already attacked Gayer for being the subject of a search and seizure. “With the PF knocking on the door, it was the first time Gayer woke up early in his life, it’s a shame he didn’t go to work,” Caiado said in an interview with O Globo newspaper.

“I didn’t want to believe that Caiado was behind this (operation). As much as I had suspicions, I chose to remain silent, silent, because I couldn’t believe that he was capable of this,” he said. “I tried everything to get myself together and bring you closer to Bolsonaro so that the right could walk together… Scoundrel! I tried to admire you, but now with this stupid and childish comment. What a scoundrel!”, he added.

Gayer even wrote in the title of the video that Caiado was making fun of him. “He will never be president!! Never!!”, he said.

The post received numerous supportive comments from far-right politicians and supporters, including the Bolsonaro family. Former first lady and PL Mulher president Michelle Bolsonaro wrote in response to Gayer that “he who was born to be Caiado will never be Bolsonaro.” Federal MP Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) instead stated that Caiado’s position is “more than deplorable…bizarre”.

The two right-wing politicians find themselves on opposite sides in Goiânia’s municipal elections. Gayer supports state deputy Fred Rodrigues (PL), the name chosen by former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to represent him in the capital, while Caiado bets on former federal deputy Sandro Mabel (União Brasil) to have an ally at the helm of the largest city in the state.
