Crunchy and healthy seasoned chickpea snack, perfect for quick snacks or as an addition to salads

Ingredients for chickpeas:
– 1 cup(s) of pre-cooked chickpeas
Crispy chickpeas (seasoning) Ingredients:
– salt to taste
– pepper to taste THE
– 1 tablespoon(s) of olive oil
– 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika ab
– 1/2 teaspoon(s) of cumin THE
– 1/2 teaspoon(s) of turmeric THE
PREPARATION:
For fresh (dried) chickpeas:
- To prepare it with dried chickpeas, divide the quantity of pre-cooked chickpeas by 2 (so they will double in volume).
- Place the dried chickpeas in a bowl, cover them with water and leave them to soak for 8 hours or overnight.
- Drain and rinse the chickpeas well. Cook in a pan with water for 20-30 minutes until tender but firm.
- Drain the cooked chickpeas and dry them well on absorbent paper, pressing lightly to remove as much moisture as possible.
For pre-cooked chickpeas (vacuum-packed or canned):
- Drain the cooked chickpeas and, if canned, rinse them well to remove excess acidity/sodium.
- Place the chickpeas on absorbent paper and dry them well, pressing to remove all the moisture.
PREPARATION:
Crispy chickpeas:
- In a bowl, toss chickpeas with olive oil, paprika, turmeric (optional), cumin, salt, and pepper, coating all grains well with seasoning.
- Arrange the seasoned chickpeas on a baking tray, distributing them so that the grains do not overlap.
Crispy Chickpeas – TOASTING:
- Cook in a preheated oven at 180°C for 35-45 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking.
- Check the consistency, they must be very crunchy, if necessary cook for another 5-10 minutes.
FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:
- Remove from oven and let crispy chickpeas cool completely before storing.
- Serve as healthy snack or as a complement to salads and soups.
- Store it in a closed container to keep it crunchy.
