Verdão is in the final stages of the agreement with Sportingbet, which will see his club on the Alviverde shirt for the next four years
Palmeiras only has the legal bureaucratic formalities left to complete the signing of the contract and have a new main sponsorship. The Sportingbet betting house will have to display its brand on the most noble part of the Alviverde shirt from 2025, with a four-year contract for a fixed sum of 100 million reals. The club, in fact, will have its name printed on the Verdão men’s and women’s teams.
Furthermore, the contract includes bonuses in the event of a title. The cups could result in Verdão receiving R$150 million this season. The agreement also provides for an increase in the fixed amount based on Brazilian inflation over the years. The failure to correct the values had been one of the main criticisms of the Crefisa and FAM sponsorship contract.
Currently, Palmeiras receives R$99.5 million in total from the main sponsorship of the men’s and women’s fixed teams. However, the use of the space was exclusive to Crefisa. The move to Sportingbet will be worth R$100 million. Despite a similar number, Verdão will not have an exclusive contract and will be able to negotiate other areas of his kit.
The end of the exclusivity with Crefisa means that Palmeiras is looking for agreements so that its kit starts to be worth 150 million reals. A novelty in this sense is that the club has negotiated the “combo” of space in the men’s uniform and in youth football. BYD is one of the companies interested in talks with the club.
Candidate for re-election in Palmeiras, Leila Pereira wants to close the agreements before the elections. This Sunday (24), he will compete with Savério Orlandi, who will be Verdão’s representative in the coming years.
