Warning, this article contains spoilers for Moana 2.
Moana 2, the long-awaited sequel to Disney’s 2016 film, opens in theaters on Wednesday. In this new adventure, the Polynesian heroine embarks on a journey that will take her to the dangerous waters off the Pacific Islands.
With the help of Maui, a new crew, and her loyal companions Pua and Heihei, Moana sets off in search of Motufetu, a legendary island that was once a meeting place for explorers.
Directed by David G. Starring Derrick Jr., Jason Hand and Dana Ledoux Miller, the feature film takes place three years after the action of Moana. The explorer, now little Simea’s big sister, became a role model for the little girls on her island. He is free to explore the ocean beyond the coral reef and lives in harmony with his family. Vayana will then receive a call from her research ancestors, namely Tautai Vasa, who is already present in the previous opus.
The latter appears to the young girl during one of her visions and tells her that the Pacific Islanders were separated long ago by a terrible curse, and now it is up to her to reach Motufetū in order to hope for a reunion. All the people of the sea.
Moana faced Nalo
Then we learn that it was Nalo, the god of storms – who rejected any idea of human brotherhood – who caused the island to sink to the bottom of the ocean, forever damning it and destroying the way to get there.
So Wayana sets off in search of the island with a colorful crew consisting of an old farmer, a young engineer and a storyteller. They cross paths with Matangi, a mysterious woman who controls the bats and questions everything Moana thinks she knows about herself. Matangi Nalo has locked Motufetu at the entrance to the island, but the latter hates being immobile and longs for freedom. So he will come to help Moana and Maui.
In the final battle, Moana and Maui meet Nalo, who is being seen by a terrible storm. You’ll have to wait until the post-credits scene to see the character in its entirety.

What does the post-credits scene contain?
We actually see Nalo for the first time in an extra scene in the film. Throughout Moana 2, God is a menacing and powerful presence, we are reminded of him but we don’t see him. The post-credits scene introduces the God of Storms as he laments how Moana ended the curse in the ocean.
Physically imposing, Nalo is a muscular god with a fiery lightning flash in his eyes. Frustrated by the plot twist, we see her viciously attack Matangi, whom she accuses of helping Moana and Maui. After that, Nalo promises to take revenge on the two heroes.
Another surprise post-credits scene is the return of Tamatoa, the shiny object-obsessed giant crab from the first film. The latter reappears as an ally with Nalo and expresses his desire to take revenge on Moana and Maui. Thus, the scene leaves the audience facing Moana’s alliance of two enemies, now united by a common goal.
