Why did Mark Harmon join ‘NCIS’?
The comedian continues and also remembers why he agreed to join NCIS more than twenty years ago. The actor confides to the specialized American media:
“People ask, “What attracted you to this story?” I replied: “The name.” I was sent the NCIS script and I remember reading the name “Leroy Jethro Gibbs” and that name stopped me.“, the star recalls.
“Obviously there’s more to it than that, but I didn’t expect to get caught Mark Harmon notes. It’s also about storytelling and thinking that you have to bring something to the role…”
Finally, the leading man reflects on his departure from NCIS in Season 19: “I’ve been on the show a long time and I don’t know anyone who says, “Hey, I’m going to do a pilot and it’s going to last 20 years.” This is unheard of!“
