At 85, Coppola is thinking about releasing two more films
Francis Ford Coppola He already has plans for his next film.
In an interview with the newspaper The Washington Post (via NME), the director said that he intends to start his new project, TheGlimpses Of The Moonin London, next year.
He described the project as “a strange 1930s-style musical” and “a very peculiar combination” with “strong elements of dance and music”.
Unlike Megalopolisthe filmmaker’s latest release, the new feature film will be financed “in the conventional way, with the help of national subsidies”, because he is “completely in debt”.
“By no means will it be cheap”, he added, further stating that the film will not be “epic” as Megalopolis.
The Glimpses of the Moon will be an adaptation of the book of the same name by Edith Wharton with elements from the 1937 comedy Cupid is a Stubborn Brat. Both narratives portray couples who separate and later regret it.
At 85 years old, Coppola He’s also already thinking about his latest film. Distant Vision will be, according to the filmmaker, “more ambitious than Megalopolis”.
