The Emmy-winning series returns with new settings, characters and intriguing mysteries
The acclaimed HBO series, The White Lotusis officially back for a third season, set to premiere in February 2025. Created by Mike Whitethe anthology explores social themes through a satirical look and, this season, will delve into the universe of spirituality and death in the context of Asian culture.

Cast and characters
As in previous seasons, the third season features a renewed cast. Among the names already confirmed are Natasha Rothwellwho returns as Belinda Lindsey, a character seen in the first season, as well as new faces such as Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey and Walton Goggins.
Other cast highlights include Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood (of Sex Education) and Tayme Thapthimthonga young Asian promise. Despite speculation about possible flashbacks with Jennifer Coolidge (Tanya McQuoid), nothing has been confirmed so far.
Plot and setting
Each season of The White Lotus takes place in a luxury resort in a paradisiacal location, and this time, the plot will be set in Thailand, more specifically in the luxurious Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui. Mike White indicated that this season’s story will address death and spirituality in the context of Eastern religions, maintaining the series’ characteristic satirical tone.
The plot may also revisit some mysteries from the second season, such as Greg’s (Jon Gries) fate after Tanya’s death and Portia’s (Haley Lu Richardson) possible reaction. According to White, “someone needs to trace all of this back to Greg.”
Episodes and duration
The number of episodes for the new season has not yet been confirmed. The first season had six episodes, while the second had seven. There is speculation that the third season could have eight episodes, following the expansion trend.

The White Lotus returns in February 2025, as announced by Warner Bros. executives. Discovery. The exact date has not yet been revealed, but the episodes will be broadcast on HBO and will be available on Max.
The future of the series
Although a fourth season has not yet been officially confirmed, creator Mike White has already presented ideas for the continuation. Second Casey Bloys, CEO of HBO“if Mike wants to move forward with season four, he certainly will.”
