Imagine an apocalyptic western in a world with creatures inspired by Mad Max. All are directed by Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson. This is the program that awaits you in In The Lost Lands, a film adapted from the 1982 story by George RR Martin, the father of Game of Thrones.
For this film, the director remains faithful to Milla Jovovich – his wife – to whom he once again entrusts the main role. The actress stars with Dave Bautista. The pitch is here:
“Desperate, the queen wants to accept the shape-shifting gift. She hires the sorceress Gray Alice – who fulfills all wishes, even the wildest. The Queen then sends Gray Alice to the Lost Lands in the company of the mysterious Wandering Boyce. Together they must outwit and defeat man and demon…“
The images in the trailer reflect a style similar to the director’s other films: an avalanche of visual effects – some successful, some less so – and crazier scenes – including Dave Bautista using a bipod. Snake as a weapon.
This project was announced in 2021 and took several years to see the light of day. In the United States, In The Lost Lands opens in theaters on March 7.
No release date has been announced in France.
