After Madureira declared that he had been prevented by Vasco from sharing the flight to Manaus, where the teams will face each other next Thursday, at the Arena da Amazônia, in the fourth round of the Carioca Championship, Cruzmaltino responded with an official note on his social network media early this Wednesday.

“VASCO DA GAMA comes forward to clarify and deny the – out of tone – declarations of Madureira EC regarding the events related to the logistics of the match in Manaus.
By contract and express clause it is the exclusive responsibility of the event organizer to bear all costs and responsibilities relating to logistics, accommodation and other expenses of the opposing team of Vasco. The claim that Vasco “prevented” something is as imaginative as a samba school conspiracy. Whoever organizes the logistics is the event organizer, not Vasco.
Playing with the crowd, Madureira’s leaders get lost in words and stumble over actions. This is not a free ride. Vasco has positioned itself to defend the two clubs that must be respected by the organizers of this or any other match. Vasco and Madureira have rights.
But Madureira’s leaders had difficulty interpreting and showed ignorance.
The attempt to transfer responsibility to Vasco is a demonstration of ignorance on how a sporting event is organised. It is strange that Madureira would confuse the logistics of an official match and contractual rights with a recreational event or excursion.
If the directors of Madureira EC want to learn competence and organization, they can draw inspiration from the great samba schools of their region, which do so much to take and enhance the name of the traditional neighborhood of Madureira throughout Brazil and the world as an example of excellence .

Vasco and Madureira will play on Thursday, at 9.30pm (Brasilia time), at the Arena da Amazônia. The match will mark the debut of Vasco’s main team in the 2025 season. In the first three rounds the team used an alternative team and drew all their matches.
