The serialized version of “Chucky” was developed by Don Mancini, the creator of the character, who wrote the screenplay for the first “Children’s Play” in 1988 and has since explored the franchise relentlessly: he signed six sequels and directed three plastic films. monstrous features. .
In addition to writing the scripts and producing the episodes, Mancini also directed the inaugural chapter of the series.
In the plot, the title character finds new victims when he is acquired in a garage sale by young Jake (Zackary Arthur, from “Transparent”), a gay teenager who suffers from bullying. Unexpectedly, Chucky empathizes with the young man’s plight, but in the bloodiest way possible.
The cast of the attraction also highlights Jennifer Tilly, the protagonist of “The Bride of Chucky”, and recovers the classic dubbing of Chucky, made by actor Brad Dourif, in counterpoint to the recent remake in which the doll was voiced by Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker). ).
