Minister Cristiano Zanin of the Federal Supreme Court (Stf) requested explanations from the president of the court of Mato Grosso, judge José Zuquim Nogueira, for the food allowance of R $ 10,000 – the penduannate “Vale -peru” – paid to state magistrates in December.
Zanin has also requested information from Minister Mauro Campbell Marques, accompanying the National Council of Justice (CNJ), an agency that supervises the judiciary, who suspended the payment because he considers the exorbitant amount.
The advantage, however, fell into the account of the magistrates and servants, even after the decision of the minister. Days later, the Court retired and sent employees to return the money.
“Vale-Peru” was authorized by judge Clarice Claudino da Silva, who at the time was the president of the court. The predefined benefit value is $ 2,000.
The payment is questioned in an action presented by the lawyer Pedro Daniel Valim Fim, president of the Mato Grosso social observatory. The lawyer states that the exceptional increase in “vale-peru” in December was abusive.
“The purpose of food aid is not to finance extra Christmas, holidays, New Year, travel and others, but as mentioned, paying the food expenses relating to the effective professional practice,” he claimed to enter the process.
