Sports, cultural and support activities for women’s empowerment will be available on March 8 for the whole family.
On March 8, Porto Alegre will be the scene of a special event to celebrate International Women’s Day, with a series of activities at the State Sports Training Center (ECS), from 9:00. Organized by the Sport and Leisure Secretariat (Sel), the event offers a day full of free attractions for all ages, with sports, cultural activities and awareness -raising services.
Among the attractions of the event, we highlight the personal defense classes, offers in the gym of fighting and the presentations of artistic gymnastics in the gym. For the little ones, the external area of Cete will present inflatable toys and other recreational options. In addition, the program will present cultural performances such as ballet and a rhyme show, in order to promote female empowerment and the culture of peace.
During the event, the stands will be set up with information on public services and the guide by bodies such as the public service and the public defender’s office, with the aim of providing support to women. The event aims to strengthen protection actions and equal rights, with particular attention to educational actions and support for women.
The government of Rio Grande do Sul, in collaboration with different entities, such as the civil police and the military brigade, celebrates the role of women in society and strengthens the importance of concrete actions to guarantee their rights. The event tries to combine fun, learning and awareness on crucial arguments, promoting an inclusive and safe environment for everyone.
