The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) has announced the ban on three new olive oil brands, with all the lots concerned on Friday 6. The measure implies that the products will be seized and removed from the trade shelves.
Anvisa’s decision occurs on the same day of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) disqualified eight brands of olive oil for fraud.
The signs of olive oil prohibited by Anvisa are:
Serrano olive oil: Intagile importer Distribuidora Concept Ltda. – CNPJ: 72.726.474/0002-07.
Malaga extraviorge olive oil: Importora Cunha Importação and EXPORTAção Ltda. – CNPJ: 34.365.877/0001-06.
Olive Olive Olive Oil Field: Importer JJ – Limited food trade – CNPJ: 37.815.395/0001-90.
Anvisa justified the prohibition due to the absence of CNPJ valid for importers and the unsatisfactory laboratory of the products. The agency stressed that, since they are foods with unknown origin, there is no guarantee of the quality or composition of these olive oils.
