Putin speaks with Trump and condemns the attacks from Israel to Iran, says Cremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on Saturday for 50 minutes with the President of the United States Donald Trump, condemning Israel’s military operation against Iran and expressing concern for the risks of climbing the conflict, said the Kremlin.

“Vladimir Putin condemned Israel’s military operation against Iran and expressed serious concern for a possible escalation of the conflict, which would have had unpredictable consequences for the entire situation in the Middle East,” the Cremlin Councilor Yuri Ushakov told journalists.

Trump, in turn, described events in the Middle East as “very alarming”, according to Ushakov. However, the two leaders said not to exclude a return to negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program, said Ushakov.

Information on Ukraine, Putin told the President of the United States that Russia is willing to continue negotiations with Ukrainians after June 22, according to the state press agency.

According to the Cremlin Councilor, Trump reiterated his interest for a quick solution to the conflict.

Putin also congratulated Trump for his 79th birthday.
