“Lord of the Rings”: Peter Jackson considered hypnosis to forget the trilogy

Peter Jackson, director of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, commented that he even thought of undergoing hypnosis sessions to forget the movies.

In an interview with Chatter’s Awards podcast The Hollywood reporter, Peter Jackson revealed that he “seriously considered” trying to use hypnosis to forget his Oscar-winning films, the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. However, while some may think that this director’s desire is due to the fact that it was a traumatic experience, the reason is entirely positive.

“When we made the ‘Lord of the Rings’ movies, I always felt like I was the unfortunate person who never got to see them as an unexpected movie,” Jackson said. “When they were screened, I was immersed in them for five or six years. It was a great loss for me not to be able to see them like everyone else, ”explained the director.

So, he confessed that he thought about asking for help to correct this problem. “I actually seriously considered going to a hypnotist to hypnotize myself and make me forget the movies and work I’ve been doing for the past six or seven years so I can sit back and enjoy them.
