The anti -Corruption organs of Ukraine declared Saturday that they had discovered a large corruption scheme that acquired military drones and reports the interference systems at inflated prices two days after the independence of the agencies has been restored after important protests.
The independence of investigators and anti -corruption promoters of Ukraine, Nabu and Flavo, was restored by Parliament on Thursday, after a measure to remove it, brought the greatest manifestations of the country from the invasion of Russia in 2022.
In a note published by both social media agencies, Nabu and Flavo declared that they had taken an acting parliamentarian, two local authorities and an unspecified number of employees of the National Guard who receive bribes. None of them have been identified.
“The essence of the regime was to close the state contracts with deliberately inflated prices that provide companies,” said the note, adding that the offenders had received bribes up to 30% of the cost of a contract. Four people were arrested.
“There may be only zero tolerance for corruption, a clear teamwork to exhibit corruption and, consequently, a fair phrase,” wrote the president Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Telegram.
Zelenskiy, who has large presidential powers in war and still enjoys a wide approval among the Ukrainians, has been forced to a rare reversal of political trend when his attempt to put Nabu and the frog under the control of his attorney general has caused the first national protests of the war.
Zelenskiy later said he listened to the anger of the people and that he had presented a bill that restores the old independence of the agencies, which was voted by Parliament on Thursday.
The European allies of Ukraine praised the measure, since they had expressed concern about the original retreat of the status of the agencies.
Important European authorities referred to Zelenskiy that Ukraine was endangered his demand to adhere to the European Union by limiting the powers of his anti -Corruption authorities.
“It is important that the anti -corruption institutes operate independently and the law adopted on Thursday guarantees them every opportunity for a real fight against corruption,” said Zelenskiy on Saturday after meeting the heads of the agencies, who informed him of the last investigation.
