“It’s the first time in my life that I can do a duet with Ozzy,” said Rob Halford about collaboration with the metal legend who died in July
THE Judas Priest is working behind the scenes to obtain permission to launch an official cover of “War Pigs”from Black Sabbathwith the participation of the deceased Ozzy Osbourne. During a recent appearance in the podcast Full Metal Jackiethe vocalist Rob Halford Detaled the duet recording process with Osbourne before the death of the metal legend in July.
Halford said:
“Ozzy sings a verse and I sing another verse. It’s the first time in my life that I can do a duet with Ozzy and I’m forever grateful and blessed for having done it.”
Halford revealed that Sharon Osbourne was responsible for uniting them. She liked the cover of “War Pigs” that Judas Priest recently launched.
“She approached me with an idea and said, ‘I love your version of War Pigs. Can we get Ozzy? ‘ I thought, ‘Are you wondering? This will happen! ‘. ”
Rob did not disclose an official schedule for the duet recording, nor when it will be officially released, but noted that “the green button is almost ready” and “will be soon”. Meanwhile, the musician is raising the expectation.
“When you hear, it’s simply colossal. You think you’ve heard Priest’s only ‘War Pigs’ experience, but when you hear ‘WAR PIGS’ From Priest with Ozzy singing in that track, it’s like going to a really special place. ”
For now, Osbourne’s posthumous musical participation have not yet been disclosed. The musician died of a heart attack on July 22, after which Halford “shrinks like a ball and cried copiously for hours”. Osbourne appeared soon at the end of LEGO MASTERS Jr.the series presented by his daughter, Kelly Osbourne.
