Netflix released the first trailer and release date for the series Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities (The Cabinet of Curiosities of Guillermo del Toro, French) on Monday, in which the director himself introduces his series. The show is a scheduled four-day event (with double episodes) scheduled for Halloween.
Guillermo del Toro has created a collection of scary stories that aims to redefine the horror genre and the concepts associated with it. These eight exquisite and terrifying tales (including two original stories by del Toro) are brought to the screen by a team of writers and directors handpicked by the Mexican director.
After launching on October 25, two new episodes will air daily until October 28, when the complete collection of eight stories will be available to Netflix subscribers worldwide.
“With The Cabinet of Curiosities we set out to highlight realities outside our normal world: anomalies and curiosities. We’ve picked and selected a group of stories and storytellers to bring you these stories, whether they’re from outer space, the supernatural, or just from our own minds.Del Toro said in a statement.
“Just in time for Halloween, each of these eight tales is a fantastical glimpse into the wardrobe of delights that exist beyond the reality in which we live.“- concludes the director.

Story by HP Lovecraft and directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen).
Graveyard rats David Hewlett (The Shape of Water) stars in the episode written by Henry Kuttner and directed by Vincenzo Natali (The Cube).
Party 36 Tim Blake Nelson (Watchmen), Elpidia Carrillo (Predator), Demetrius Grosse (Fear The Walking Dead) and Sebastien Roche (The Man in the High Castle) star in the episode written by Regina Corrado (Deadwood), based on the original story. By del Toro and directed by Guillermo Navarro (The Godfather of Harlem).
Pickman’s model Ben Barnes (Shadow & Bone), Crispin Glover (Back to the Future) and Oriana Lehman (Locke & Key) star in the Lee Patterson (Curve) episode based on the HP Lovecraft story and directed by Keith. Thomas (Firestarter).
Autopsy : F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus), Glynn Thurman (The Wire) and Luke Roberts (Black Sails) will appear as David S. In an episode written by Goyer (Sandman), based on a story by Michael Shea and directed by David. Front (empty man).
