Netflix has unveiled the first images of “Wandinha”, a new series that will bring a new version of the Adams Family to the screens.
The images came out at Vanity Fair, showing the new version of the Addams Family. “Wandinha” will have Jenna Ortega as the protagonist, presenting her for the first time as a teenager.
The series is directed by none other than Tim Burton, who was set to direct the 1991 classic “The Addams Family,” but who ended up leaving the project to tackle “Batman: Returns,” with the Addams story passing to the director. Barry Sonnenfeld.
This time around, “Wandinha” will present the character in a new way, with a supernatural mystery full of murder, as she will have to deal with the Nevermore Academy private school, and Wandinha’s relationships with her family, presented in a different way than we ‘saw.
In addition to the different approach, something that many fans who know the Addams Family, which emerged in the drawings of its creator Charles Addams published in The New Yorker magazine in the mid-20th century, must appreciate is the appearance of the characters, which presents something closer. to the original.
Wandinha appears with the character’s signature braids, while Morticia wears a luxurious vampire-style suit, Gomez wears a pinstripe suit, and Pugsley his traditional striped sweatshirt and shorts. In addition to promotional images of the family together, some images from the series were released, with Wandinha sitting between her parents and Pugsley tied up and trapped in a locker room.

More cast members can now be seen in the images above, although Uncle Fester Addams remains a mystery, after all Netflix has yet to reveal who will play the character.
The series sees Miles Millar and Alfred Gough as showrunners and, in addition to Jenna Ortega as Wandinha, will have Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Ortega as a Wandinha, as Netflix released a teaser in June featuring her character.
The prediction is that “Wandinha” will arrive on Netflix in 2022, but there is no set date yet.
