Directors Bert & Bertie, known for their work on the “Hawkeye” series and the big comedy “Tropa Zero” (2019), will direct a film based on Disneyland’s “Big Thunder Mountain Railroad” attraction.
The “Big Thunder Mountain Railroad” is a kind of roller coaster where the public board a (presumably) runaway train that whizzes through a haunted gold mine. The attraction opened in 1979 in Disneyland. Versions of this tour have also been published in the parks of Tokyo and Paris.
Details on the plot of the film have not yet been released.
This will be the latest addition to Disneyland’s growing list of toy adaptations, which includes the profitable and long-running “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, the recent “Jungle Cruise” starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, and “Haunted Mansion,” which already has produced a film with Eddie Murphy and will now win a remake with Rosario Dawson, Jared Leto and Jamie Lee Curtis.
