New edition of Zoom Zoom Quiz. This time, it’s movie posters from the 2000s that we’ve zoomed in on to leave you with just a simple detail to try and find the original poster.
A close-up eye looks at you on a black background. This is a (slightly) anxiety-inducing movie poster that was no less anxiety-inducing, Darren Aronofsky’s Dream Requiem with Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly, released in 2000. A decade rich in cinematography, which offers us another memorable one. posters.
One might think of Cloverfield, who gave us the Statue of Liberty from behind, with a severed head, with New York burning in the background. An image that refers to this landmark scene from the beginning of the film, where moments after the attack, the characters see the head of the famous statue fly in front of them and fall a few meters.
Another notable poster from this period that is still in the fantasy register is Richard Kelly’s Don Darko poster, which featured actor Jake Gyllenhaal. We see most of the film’s characters in very light blues, creating the disturbing Frank, a nightmarish rabbit head that haunts young Donnie throughout the film.
A recent example, with a slightly more private film, but which knew how to mark a certain community when it came out in 2002, is Roger Ewari’s Laws of Attraction. On a yellow background, you can see a pair of teddy bears in quite distinct positions, with the inscription “We all walk on instinct”.
So it’s posters from that decade that we’re going to play with in this new quiz, posters that we’ve greatly enlarged to keep only a very small fraction. Can you identify these nine movies?
