The announcement comes after the troubled launches of Vultures 1 (2024) and Vultures 2 (2024), collaborative projects between Ty Dolla $ign and Kanye West under the nickname ¥$. Despite delays in the initially planned schedule, the third album was always presented as the final chapter in the series.
Furthermore, Ty Dolla $ign had already presented in a live with Tyga a section of an unreleased track attributed to Vultures 3titled “Don’t Kill the Party”produced by BNYX.
Although the message didn’t make much sense, many internet users reacted to the teaser on social media with skepticism and excitement. Some questioned whether the partnership was still profitable, others speculated about the meaning of the numbers mentioned, but no one reached a conclusion.
Era Vultures: lots of promise, little practice
The first two volumes of the project Vultures They arrived surrounded by expectations: artistic, conceptual and personal. Vultures 1 brought a raw and confrontational aesthetic, with cinematic ambitions and provocative verses, but already receiving criticism for the radical way of exposure and the harsh treatment of personal and relational themes.
In turn, Vultures 2 was widely criticized for sounding fragmented, incohesive and suffering from contested production decisions, especially the use of artificial intelligence to emulate vocals from Ye on tracks like “Field Trip” and “Sky City”.Currently, both artists have projects announced for the coming months and, it seemed, the partnership had ended.
