What is it about?
The film revisits a little-known episode in European history from the 1920s/30s. A community of idealistic Germans sets out for the island of Floreana Island, in the Galápagos Islands, abandoning the bourgeois values they believed erode humanity to build an alternative life in the wild. Eden addresses survival, mystery and complex human relationships in the face of adversity, as the dream of utopia gives way to distrust, violence and moral collapse.
While Ana de Armas plays Baroness Eloise, whose hedonistic vision clashes with the group’s discipline. Sydney Sweeney plays Margret Wittmer, a symbol of a third way, as she tries to balance family and survival amid the degradation of the colony.

Yes. The film is inspired by the mysterious case of Floreanaan island in the Galápagos that, in the 1930s, was the scene of still unexplained disappearances and deaths.
