Extended version of the 2024 album adds only one “unreleased” track: “Mother”. In addition, the artist announces that he intends to step away from music for a long time.

The rapper and producer Tyler, the Creator celebrated the one year anniversary of Chromakopia (2024) with the launch of the deluxe edition, titled CHROMAKOPIA+available on streaming platforms. The difference is that the version only adds one new unreleased track — “Mother”which until then was restricted to physical editions of the album.

The new track features a new verse opening, confirming that it is not just the same transferred track, but a revisited version. (Rap-Up)

Different from Call Me If You Get Lost (2021), which received a deluxe with eight more tracks, Chromakopia it was much more restrained musically. However, only this album received a post on Instagram with revelations:

According to him:

I was planning on this being my last album for a long time. Launch, do the big tour, disappear and only reappear for film roles. See what life is like without work being a constant priority. It’s hard though, I love creating things.

Furthermore, with CHROMAKOPIA+, Tyler also appears in a reflective mode: in the publication, he provides an overview of his career, revisits childhood memories in Inglewood and Hawthorne and talks about his relationship with home, fame and silence.

He mentions the gigantic tour that followed the album — “What a beautiful tour! … Cincinnati was my favorite show”, and gives up on producing new albums soon, if he sticks to the announced plan.

On Chromakopia

Originally released on October 28, 2024, Chromakopia was the eighth album by Tyler, the Creator. The album arrived with a range of important collaborations, from Daniel Caesar the Lil Waynedelving into themes such as identity, fame, desire, fatherhood and masculinity.

Among the highlights are “St. Chroma”opening track, and “NOID”which talks precisely about him being paranoid about fame in a heavier, hip hop-oriented sound.

From the middle to the end, songs like “Like Him” and “Darling, I” they insert piano, ethereal voices and softer arrangements to show their vulnerable and reflective side, which makes the set as varied as it is cohesive.
