Find out when Pedro is expected to return to the pitch

The center forward Rubro-Negro was certainly absent in the semi-final against Racing della Libertadores

Seeking a place in the final of the Copa Libertadores, Flamengo will face Racing this Wednesday (29th), in Avellaneda. After winning the first leg 1-0, Rubro-Negro only needed a draw to guarantee their presence in the final of the continental tournament.

For tonight’s match, at the Argentines’ home, Flamengo will not be able to count on the presence of Pedro. The player suffered a non-displaced fracture of the right ulna. Shortly after the match against Racing, last Wednesday (22), he was taken to hospital, where he underwent an x-ray which confirmed the injury. He then received medical advice, returned home and, the following day, underwent the creation of an orthosis to immobilize his arm.

The club’s medical department estimates that Pedro will return to training in approximately four weeks, approximately November 13th, during the next FIFA Date (10th to 18th). In this period, Flamengo has commitments with the Brasileirão against Sport (15/11, postponed from the 12th round), Fluminense (19/11), as well as undated clashes against Bragantino, Atlético-MG, Ceará and Mirassol. If they beat Racing, the team will also play in the Libertadores final on November 29th.

With the injury, Pedro is expected to miss five matches, including the duel against Fortaleza. During recovery, the attacker follows a specific physical strengthening program, focused on the lower body and exercises with stationary bikes in the gym.
