Halloween at the movies: Here are 4 must-see movies in theaters to get you spooked!

For Halloween, you can see four horror movies at the cinema, between nightmares, suspense and pure adrenaline. Get ready to jump because these stories will make your blood run cold and your eyes glued to the screen.

Walk or Die – Released October 1st

From the veteran director of the Hunger Games saga Francis Lawrence comes a new adaptation of the story by the master of suspense Stephen King – published in 1979 under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. This harrowing project, restricted to under 16s, follows young Garratt as he prepares to take part in ‘La Longue Marche’, a competition that brings together a hundred candidates and is televised to thousands of viewers. But this ride is no ordinary ordeal: it’s a game without faith or law…

On-screen legend Mark Hamill plays the antagonist alongside three promising young talents: Cooper Hoffman, David Johnson and Gareth Waring.

Black Phone 2 – Released on October 15th

A sequel we didn’t expect, but many hoped for after the success of Black Phone. Scott Derrickson, already at the head of the first part and used to horror stories (Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose), picks up the phone again. Four years after his abduction, 17-year-old Finn tries to return to normal life, while his 15-year-old sister Gwen does everything she can to protect him. But the phone starts ringing again in his dream: he sees three boys being hunted. Determined to solve the mystery, Gwen convinces Finn to go there despite the blizzard that is hitting the station.

Ethan Hawke as the creepy seeker joins Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw in a chilled retro atmosphere – the perfect recipe for thrills this Halloween.

The Intruders – Chapter 2 – released on October 29

The fourth film in The Strangers Saga, which began in 2008, this new chapter is the second part of a trilogy that continues the first two opuses. Renny Harlin, who already directed the previous one, replaces Brian Bertino and Johannes Roberts, and will also pilot the third one.

The Intruders are back, more brutal and ruthless than ever. When they discover that one of their victims, Maya, has survived, they resume their hunt to finish what they started. Isolated and hunted, Maya faces a new nightmare as these ruthless killers destroy everyone in their path.

Between a killing party and a book where you’re the hero, streamer Ponce returns with an interactive Halloween movie by Fourmi Rouge and ARTE and distributed by mk2. The produced, performed and live streaming system allows viewers to choose the rest of the story thanks to real-time polls on their smartphones.

Directed by Camille Duveleroy, this event follows the first film Flying Burgers. This time, Malik and Lou, who are in Metz, help Ophel organize a terror-themed wedding for Valentine. But just when they think they’ve scared off their guests, they’re about to encounter the Flayer, a ruthless ghost who haunts the town’s old slaughterhouses… what’s his terrifying secret?
