With Haaland’s brace, Manchester City wins and moves to second place in the Premier League

The Norwegian striker reaches 13 goals in the competition, extending his lead at the top of the artillery table

THE Manchester City took second place in the English championship after beating Bournemouth 3-1 this Sunday in the tenth round of the Premier League. Haaland, once again, was the highlight of the match, with two goals scored. O’Reilly did the other, with Adams cashing in.

City have now reached 19 points in the competition, compared to leaders Arsenal’s 25. Bournemouth occupies fourth place, with 18.

The two teams will return to action in the Premier League next Sunday (9). While Bournemouth visits Aston Villa, at 11pm (Brasilia time), Manchester City plays the classic against Liverpool, at 1.30pm.

As usual, City had possession from the first minute and scored against the under-pressure Bournemouth team. Soon, the first goal did not take long to arrive. In the 16th minute Cherki headed the ball to Haaland, who broke free to make it 1-0.

However, the Citizens didn’t have much time to celebrate. In the 24th minute Adams took advantage of a mistake by Donnarumma in a corner and finished from inside the small area. The goal did not shake the hosts, who took the lead again in the 32nd minute, again with Haaland, who took advantage of a new ball from Cherki to dribble past Petrovic and make it 2-1. Then Foden and the Norwegian striker came close to scoring the hosts’ third goal.

The second half begins with Bournemouth scaring City with Brooks, who stops on Donnarumma. Soon after, O’Reilly received a good ball from Foden and scored City’s third goal. After opening the scoreboard, the Citizens managed to bring out the score with another Premier League victory.
