It’s been almost a year since the last episode of Yellowstone aired. Fans of the western series won’t have to wait any longer to find out the rest of the story, as the first spin-off titled Y: Marshals is coming to television very soon. This first production series will allow us to follow the new adventures of Case Dutton (Luke Grimes), a former marine in the past.
Which Yellowstone characters will return?
This brand new start in life for John Dutton’s youngest son will also allow him to cross paths with an old friend. This character named Pete Calvin, who we don’t know much about, is played by Logan Marshall-Green. Y: The marshals will also feature familiar faces to Yellowstone fans.
Tate, Casey’s son, will return again in the guise of Bracken Merrill. However, more surprisingly, Monica (Kelsey Asbill) has not been announced in the casting, and the absence of Casey’s wife could be one of the starting points of intrigue for this spin-off. Other key characters have been announced to return, such as Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) and his right-hand man Mo (Mo Brings Plenty).
3 more spin-offs are planned
The series is expected to begin next spring on CBS, not Paramount+, where Yellowstone aired. A short teaser published by the American channel offers the first glimpse of the series. Casey appears there dressed as a US Marshal, chasing a van on horseback.

This spin-off is currently not to be crossed with The Dutton Ranch, another spin-off series project centered on Rip and Beth Dutton. Also remember the upcoming broadcast of The Madison, a series featuring new characters and a prequel to 1944, which has not yet begun filming.
Despite these four projects, the future of the franchise remains uncertain. A few days ago, the American media revealed the decision of Taylor Sheridan (creator of Yellowstone) not to extend the contract with Paramount. Starting in 2028, he will join the NBCUniversal group and leave all of its Western series…
The complete series of Yellowstone is now available exclusively on Paramount+.
