Newly converted actor Shia LaBeouf still hasn’t learned to turn the other cheek. After saying he was saved by converting to Catholicism, the actor sued for assault and sexual abuse decided to refute director Olivia Wilde’s claim that he was fired from the set of “Don’t Worry, Honey”, revealing that having been the one who asked to leave. And to leave no doubt, a video leaked of a call made by Wilde begging him to stay in the film, even though he knew her presence made actress Florence Pugh uncomfortable.

The video came from anonymous sources on social media, but only LaBeouf would have had access to it, since it was a personal phone call. In the video, Wilde asks LaBeouf to reconsider his decision to leave the film after an altercation with Pugh during production.

The reveal also fuels behind-the-scenes rumors about the film. Florence Pugh would have walked away from the movie’s release because she had a disagreement with Olivia Wilde. Apparently, LaBeouf’s replacement with Harry Styles created a new problem, as the director began dating the singer while filming.

The situation would become doubly uncomfortable. In addition to visits from Wilde’s then husband, actor Jaison Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), who took the kids to visit the director, Pugh had to stage hot scenes with his “boss” boyfriend.

The weather was described in late July by the Page Six website, and both the New Line studio, head of production, and Pugh’s reps declined to comment on the description. They didn’t deny it either.

Pugh also declined to be interviewed for a profile of Wilde posted by Variety this week, nor is she mentioning the film on her social media accounts.

Additionally, the TheWrap website claims to have heard from three executives connected to the film that Pugh will only be promoting “Don’t Worry Honey” at the premiere scheduled at the Venice Film Festival. The justification is that he is shooting “Dune: Part 2” in Budapest, Hungary. He might not even go to Venice to meet the director and the cast, attending a press conference only by video call.

The cast of “Don’t Worry Darling” also includes Chris Pine (“Wonder Woman”), Gemma Chan (“Eternals”), Nick Kroll (“Our Flag Is Death”), Kiki Layne (“A Prince in New York 2 ). “) and Olivia Wilde herself.

The premiere in Brazil is scheduled for 22 September.
