In Sandman, the audience navigates between dreams and reality through a gallery of characters, each stranger than the other. Among them, the Queen of the Underworld, played by the charismatic Gwendoline Christie. Starring Tom Ellis in Lucifer, also offered by Netflix.
In this promotional video released by the platform, the actor presents himself as the best embodiment of the Lord of the Underworld: “This is the best, coolest, baddest version of Netflix’s Lucifer“. A little joke against fan favorite Tom Ellis should obviously be taken second nature.

Especially as Christie revealed in an interview Digital Spy that he didn’t watch Ellis’ performance in Lucifer and that he wanted to work on his own version. It must be said that these two characters are opposites.
Neil Gaiman’s – played by a woman – is darker, more doomy and far less… cute. This is also the reason why the novelist did not want to call Tom Ellis.
Whether or not the British actress takes to social media to comment on this little performance… we can only hope so!
