In 2010, Spartacus debuted on Starz. The series signed by Stephen S. Daynight is simply the life of the same hero, from free man to enslaved gladiator, leader of the greatest slave revolt of the time against the Roman Republic. And with his true and faithful companions Crixus, Oenomaus, and Gannicus, he was surrounded in the history of mankind and television.
Its pilot begins Spartacus’ eponymous quest – to find his captured wife and exact revenge – and sets the tone for the series. Graphic violence, gore scenes and nudity fill the show, with slow motion and stylized CGI gore. The kitschy, raunchy and vulgar series nevertheless places love and friendship at the center of its story and presents Roman society, beyond appearances, in all its depraved splendor.
To the shock of some and the delight of others, the series was eagerly awaited for a second season at the time, but was delayed due to the cancer of the charismatic Andy Whitfield, aka Spartacus. The producer then decides to give him time for treatment and presents a prequel without him to keep fans waiting. The actor, declared cured, considered reprising the role before finally giving it up: he died in September 2011, aged 39, after a rerun.
For the rest of the show, it will be Liam McIntyre playing the title character, The Rainmaker, whose real name we will never know, but who will be remembered as a model of strength and courage, a tragic yet utterly mythical hero. left in you If you think so, this is the quiz
