Almost a year after the first three episodes of Sophie Cross aired, its new detective series starring Alexia Barlier (La Forêt) and Thomas Jouane (Nina, Sammy), France 3 has finally started filming season 2.
Created by Paul Pidfort, Sophie Cross tells the story of a brilliant lawyer faced with the disappearance of her five-year-old son, Arthur. This is the beginning of a nightmare for Sophie and her husband Thomas, still a police commissioner, who find themselves helpless and devastated as they cannot find their son.
Days and weeks pass, but the investigation stops. Doubts and suspicions arise: has Arthur really been kidnapped? Three years later, Sophie and Thomas are still trying to get back on track. Although she is convinced that they will never see their sons again, she refuses to lose hope and decides to join the police in tracking down Arthur.
And it is in the criminal department, which is headed by her husband Thomas, that she has to find a place among the members of the team, who are more or less happy to meet this newcomer.
In these three new episodes of 90 minutes each, directed by Adeline Darroux and written by Paul Pidfort and Marie-Anne Le Pezennec, Sophie and Thomas have a name: “Céline Chassagne”, from whose clutches they managed to rescue the young Sebastien Detige. With the help of Commissioner Lecomte’s teams.
As never before, the hope of finding Arthur alive keeps them alive, Thomas is now by Sophie’s side, and together they will do anything to find their son, even though they have to solve very unique criminal cases in parallel with this vital search.
The entire team of investigators will have to show ingenuity and solidarity. And before the romance between Amina and Fred turns out to be serious, Gabriel will find an old acquaintance on his way…
Along with Alexia Barlier and Thomas Jounet, viewers will be delighted to find Cyril Lecomte (Gabriel Deville), Mariama Gouet (Amina Dequesne) and Oussama Khedam (Fred Fontaine) also returning in this series of new episodes.
Filming until the beginning of December in Belgium, season 2 of Sophie Cross was due to air on France 3 in 2023.
