She-Hulk Episode 4: A Lighthearted Recap of the Marvel Series Where She Starts a Dating App

Tonight’s episode of She-Hulk opens with a levitating man. He’s a magician, a very poor one, if the audience in the room are to be believed, who don’t seem fazed by his little tricks (and neither are we). We learn his nickname: Donnie Blaze. We prefer to call him Donnie Me-too-offended-however.

To give her show a bit of flair, her manager asks her to “do something with her hands”. The man hesitates, then wears a strange ring on his fingers that we immediately recognize… which wizard did he steal it from? We are afraid and apparently he is too. Hands raised in the air, a magic circle appears (he’s relieved, we’re not), with a portal behind him. We’re not impressed, Don.

Next shot, heading to Kathmandu to find She-… uh no, not at all, we find Wong (whose series is it again?!) and her tray of food, ready to leave the Sopranos unattended. Then there is Medicine, the young woman Don has inadvertently sent into the portal. Wong is genuinely angry as he realizes that someone has used magic for the wrong reasons and he knows who it is.

But he’s also genuinely annoyed because a young woman dares to spoil the soprano for him. We are outraged, shocked, speechless… because yes, even the writer of his lines has not yet watched this serial. Donnie Blaze is going to pay for it.

Jennifer finally comes on screen after a good 5 minute episode. Looking into the camera, he explains that everyone loves Wong and that’s why he is (Team #Wongers). Except we want Daredevil Jenn, not Wong.

Her father arrives with a shovel and new locks to protect his daughter after the attack the day before. Yes, despite her superhuman strength, she remains a fragile young woman who deserves to be protected… so not at all, she knows how to protect herself guys.

Back at the office, where instead of working on her current business, Jenny takes the opportunity to create her profile and create a dating site. Wong then turns around to ask for help: he wants to see Blaze’s head on Pike (we’re exaggerating a bit). We learn that he is a former student of the mystical arts who was fired after a week. Wong is furious and throws out the words “dimensional travel”, “physical and astral plane” blah blah blah.

She-Hulk tells him that in order to win the lawsuit, Blaze must sign a “non-disclosure or competition agreement” or “training contract”. Hahaha. There’s one who doesn’t watch Doctor Strange like we do and doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Next shot: Jenny is at a bar with her assistant during business hours (okay, yes, that’s what dating sites are during business hours). Except Nikki doesn’t want to spend the evening talking about hearings and law, preferring to swipe her friend’s cellphone. We hear you, Nick.

Back to Wong visiting Blaze with his lawyer. A cockfight between two men to see who has the biggest… dose of magic in them. The Sorcerer Supreme wins hands down. Then go to court. Super Jen takes Medicine to a bar.

We learn that he met a mysterious demon with whom he made a pact. Wait, pause. Could it be MEPHISTO??? It is with him that Ghost Rider, Johnny Gaz, signs a pact in the comics to save his adoptive father. We let you connect the dots.

To forget about this grotesque affair, Jenny decides to let go a little and create an account for She-Hulk. Jackpot, messages coming in. Swipe left, swipe right… it connects dates more or less successfully. The doctor catches his eye (we also send a superlike!) and decides to take him home to play sudoku (wink).

But he’s interrupted by Johnny G and Wong, as the former has opened a portal to Hell – or almost – and the little piggies’ demons attack the audience. A superhero and a witch save the night and teach another useless witch a good lesson.

Jennifer can find him Date in the evening Early in the morning, after playing sudoku (re-wink), the latter discovers that Jen has resumed her human appearance and slips away… like a thief. He didn’t deserve you, Jen!

And if that humiliation wasn’t enough, the bailiff comes knocking on his door: Titania (you know, the supervillain from Episode 1 that we already forgot existed) is suing him for—hang on—fraudulent use. She-Hulk trademark, for which he recently registered a trademark. Nice low kick.

Credits.

We find Wong at the medicine company while watching This Is Us in its entirety. Okay, she doesn’t know BeyoncĂ©, but we give her a 10/10 on her taste streak.
