The American network ABC has released the poster and trailer for “Alaska Daily”, a drama series starring Hilary Swank, an actress who won two Oscars (for “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Million Dollar Baby”).
Swank plays Eileen Fitzgerald, a disgraced journalist who leaves her posh life in New York to join an Anchorage, Alaska newspaper on a journey in search of personal and professional redemption.
The preview indicates that it will investigate a case of missing persons in the region.
The series is the brainchild of Oscar-winning director Tom McCarthy (for the film “Spotlight”), and also includes Jeff Perry (“Inventing Anna”), Matt Malloy (“Perry Mason”), Meredith Holzman (“The Good Fight “), Grace Dove (” The Order “), Pablo Castelblanco (” Scream Queens “), Ami Park (” This Is Us “) and Craig Frank (” The Messengers “).
McCarthy wrote and directed the pilot episode and shares the production with Swank and the executives of 20th Century Television.
The first is scheduled for October 6.
