It All Begins Here: What’s in store for Episode 489 on Friday, September 16, 2022 [SPOILERS]

On Friday, September 16, it all starts here…

Early in the morning, Ethan fears that Chief Tessier will fire him from the institute. Axel then points out to him that his uncle is going to make a decision based on his mother’s revelations. He also tells her that she doesn’t need school to eat because she’s so good at it. However, Kardon’s son knows very well that if he is released due to his reputation, he will not be able to integrate into prestigious institutions. In turn, the young man wants to separate from his mother because she is too demanding. He also thought that by integrating the institute he could have his own space, which unfortunately is not the case.

At the same time, Chef Tessier finally decides to keep Ethan at the Institute, which especially annoys Clotilda. Indeed, the principal points out to him that the student ended up in the hospital because of him anyway, but Emmanuel insists that the accident happened outside the institution. Antoine then explains to her that the student is being screened every week and if one day he tests positive, he will be fired. The principal also thinks that they should protect her from her abusive mother and the institute will set her up in a more positive environment to get out of it.

A little later, in the amphitheater, Teissier explains to the students that Chef Cardon gave his son doping products. He tells them that he is therefore no longer welcome at the Institute and that his module is now shutting down. Additionally, he decided that Ethan could stay as long as he presented the weekly testimonials. And that’s not all, freshmen and sophomores will no longer have classes together. Tom, on the other hand, is not at all pleased and does so. Emmanuel tells her that if she’s not happy, she can go after Chef Cardone. No one is holding him back.

Chef Kardon thanked the director. He tells her that he knows very well that he has nothing to do with this doping story, but he still wants to understand that he is not innocent in all this. Indeed, he knows his methods and knows that he must push his son to his limits in order to be the best he can be. The elder urges him to be careful because he can forcefully damage his son’s talent. However, Annabelle doesn’t care what he thinks.

Meanwhile, Axel finally manages to reconcile with Solal, much to his great happiness. He then meets Samia who asks him for Ethan’s news. The young woman regrets the behavior of the previous day and unfortunately does not know how to fix it. At this point they meet the main cardon. The student takes her courage with both hands and tells her that nothing justifies her mistreatment of her son.

Later, Ethan makes a shocking news to his mother: he has been taking dope daily for several years. The young man admits that he cannot stand the pressure on her shoulders and regrets that he never received it. Annabelle is then taken aback, she was far from suspecting his discomfort. She emotionally convinces him that he is very talented and that he doesn’t need to take amphetamines to become a great chef. Ethan is very happy to hear this, as this is not in his habit. Then he promises to work on it.

At the end of the day, Ethan finds Samia. The young man knows that he supported his mother, which means that he is still worried about her. Then the two students start teasing each other again.

Chef Mayer admits to the young chefs that he is actually responsible for the first module of the master’s degree and accompanies them in creating their own project. Rose explains their conditions: they have one week to offer an iconic dish with a strong restaurant concept. Then they will choose the best proposal and they will have to work together to refine the concept, create a map and create a brigade. And they have a big surprise, the best idea will be made concrete, because on this day an ephemeral restaurant will be installed in the park of the institute.

A little later, Chef Meyer cooks one of his signature dishes in front of them. He reveals to them that he only worked it out on a weekend after years of failure. He was overcome with emotion when creating it when his father died. The chef then explains to them that it is their emotions that will make them unique in the kitchen. He also looks forward to discovering more of them through the dishes they have to offer.

Anais, Salome and Charlene don’t think they can cook the iconic dish in such a short time. They also think of Mehdi, who took months to create his signature dessert when he was already at a very good level. In turn, Enzo points out to them that they need to get out of their comfort zone.

At the end of the day, Anais and Salome share their fears with Rose. Young chefs don’t want to make a bad impression on Chef Mayer. He is then asked to remove the module on the iconic dish. However, Rose flatly refuses, telling him that the wizard is for professionals, which means they should know how to adapt to every situation.

Guillaume eventually returned to the institute. However, he did not return to his position and made a loud statement: he resigned. Chief Teissier isn’t about to let him go, but the Deputy Headmaster immediately responds. He tells her that his little despotic act will no longer affect her and she will no longer tolerate his dictatorial methods. Guillaume admits that he couldn’t stand her for years and then ends up telling her to run away. Emmanuel is then shocked and gives her one day to pack the boxes.

A little later, Antoine admires Guillaume’s courage and wants to one day be able to tell his four truths to the director. He then wants to know if his colleague really wants to go, which he does. The assistant director needs to see something else.

Guillaume then meets Kelly by chance. He is very happy to see her because he wanted to talk to her before leaving the institute. She admits to him that she cared about her mother a lot and apologizes for her behavior the past few weeks, knowing that she has hurt her heart. However, despite his departure, she is very keen to keep in touch with him. After that, Guillaume made a very nice statement and told him that he is a beautiful and talented young man. He is also convinced that he will become a great chef. Both are on the verge of tears.

Chef Armand comes next. He really wanted to hear from her once in a while. Then they recall the moment when they put their suitcases at the institute with their son years ago. Guillaume confides in her that he spent his best years at the school of Auguste Armand and that if he had to do it over again, he would do it again without hesitation because she was the woman of his life. Ex-spouses cry bitterly. And then he promises her that he will always be there for her.
