The Rings of Power: A Big Mistake is lurking in Episode 4 on Prime Video

We’re at the beginning of episode 4 of The Rings of Power, which was released last Friday on Amazon Prime Video. Captured by the orcs and dragged into their underground galleries, the elf Arondir was brought before the so-called Adar, the mysterious leader of the Horde.

Even if most viewers were probably too engrossed in the sequence (and the responses they could get) to notice, the scene contains a major makeup mistake (as our colleagues at the site recently pointed out Espinov).

Indeed, at exactly 14 minutes and 21 seconds, when we look closely at Arondir’s face, we can see that his right ear has a normal shape, and not a pointed one, as is the case with elves. His other ear, on the other hand, seems to have retained a shrunken outline.

Featured on only one or two planes, this major mistake—which can probably be attributed to a false makeup connection or post-production concerns—doesn’t appear again in the rest of the episode.
