Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes video of “3 Body Problem”, a new series from the creators of “Game of Thrones”. Revealed on Tudum, the preview features testimonials from the cast and creative team, as well as unreleased scenes from the production, and confirms that the recordings have already been completed.
The series adapts the science fiction novel “The Three-Body Problem” by Chinese writer Liou Cixin, the first Asian work to win the Hugo Award, the highest recognition in science fiction literature.
Published in Brazil by the publisher Suma, the work forms a trilogy with “A Floresta Sombria” and “O Fim da Morte” and narrates humanity’s first contact with an alien civilization.
The testimonies reinforce that this is “one of the most ambitious and complex series” ever made. That is, the basis for David Benioff and DB Weiss, who conceived “Game of Thrones”. For the new project, they are teaming up with “The Terror” showrunner Alexander Woo, director Rian Johnson, who directed “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” and Brad Pitt’s entertainment companies Plan B, and Yoozoo, with based in China.
The large cast, made up of actors from 11 different countries, highlights between the two best known stars of “Game of Thrones”, John Bradley and Liam Cunningham, two Marvel actors, Benedict Wong (“Doctor Strange”) and Tsai Chin (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”), actress Eiza Gonzalez (“Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw”) and actor Jovan Adepo (“The Edge Between Us”).
Interestingly, the video was not officially released on Netflix’s social networks, but an excerpt from the general presentation of Tudum by a Twitter user.
There is no explanation for the different treatment: all of Tudum’s other productions were popular on the platform’s networks. But it is worth remembering that, since its announcement, the series has been marked by controversy. American Senators of the Republican Party, Donald Trump himself, have accused the production of wanting to propagate the “dangerous propaganda” of the Communist Party, because, like most Chinese, the author of the book on which the plot is based is a communist .
In addition, Lin Qi, former president of the Yoozoo Group, which would be one of the producers of the next series, died of poisoning last Christmas, at the age of 39, presumably from revenge of Xu Yao, a director of the company, which some report. link to the attraction. .
“3 Body Problem” doesn’t have a release date yet.
