HBO Max premieres “Valley of the Forgotten”. Find out why to look at national terrorism

HBO Max launches “Valley of the Forgotten”, its first national horror series, this Sunday (25/9). And to reinforce, he released a video with “5 reasons to watch” the production. One of these is the fog, a typical climate of the Serra do Mar in São Paulo.

Recorded for over 100 days in the foggy climate of Paranapiacaba, a district of the municipality of Santo André, in São Paulo, the series also has many other ingredients known to fans of the genre.

In the plot, a group of young people get lost on a weekend walk in the woods and seek refuge in a village hidden by constant fog – and this isn’t on the maps. Several clues indicate that something is wrong with that place. But even after “Run!”, They continue to drink the tea offered to them by the locals. It begins to sink only when they find themselves with no way out and without communication with the rest of the world.

The atmosphere of the dark, foggy and European folklore-inspired forest also refers to “Desalma”.

Created by Fábio Mendonça (“O Doctrinador”) and Antônio Tibau (“Maldives”), the series features in the cast Caroline Abras (“The Mechanism”), Daniel Rocha (“Irmãos Freitas”), Juliana Lourenção (“Carcereiros” ), James Turpin (“Bacurau”), Felipe Velozo (also from “Irmãos Freitas”), Jiddu Pinheiro (“O Animal Cordial”), Julia Ianina (“Reality Z”), Marcos de Andrade (“Aruanas”), Roney Villela (“Novo Mundo”), Thais Lago (“3%”) and Carolina Mânica (“Rua Augusta”).
