House of the Dragon: Olivia Cooke (Alicante) lied about being on Game of Thrones

Warning, spoilers. The following article will reveal the main elements of “Dragon House” season 1.

Much was left uncertain when the creators of House of Dragons announced that Millie Alcock (Rhaenyra Targaryen) and Emily Carrey (Alysent Hightower) would be leaving the show to make way for two other actors to portray older versions of their characters.

The two young women really quickly stole the hearts of many viewers who did not want to lose them. But others were interested in discovering the actors who would take their place. Thus, in episode 6 of the show, Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke joined the Seven Kingdoms, playing the adult versions of Rhaenyra and Alicent, respectively.

Two of the actors are not on their first try and both have shown themselves early on stage. Olivia Cooke, on the other hand, has already played several important roles in both film and television, such as the role of Art3mis in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One or the role of Dylan in Only Life… by Dan Fogelman (creator of This). Is Us) which also starred Oscar Isaac and Olivia Wilde. In terms of the small screen, we were able to see it, namely in the series La Foire aux vanités or Modern Love.

However, despite the fact that the young woman began to be recognized in Hollywood for this role, she had great difficulty hiding her British accent. And even if he has already played with many famous people among which we can also mention Riz Ahmed and Anna Taylor-Joy -, Finding a job was not easy. Therefore, for such an opportunity, the actor did not hesitate to somewhat disguise the reality…

In a recent interview on the set of The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Olivia Cooke admitted that when the creators of the HBO series (which airs here on OCS) considered her for the character of Alicent, she gave it her all. This role was possible because he knew that participating in such a project would change many things.

One of the requests was to see “Game of Thrones”: she had not seen the show yet, although the young woman claimed to be a big fan. He also said that he knew how to ride a horse when he never did! But his lie was so convincing that the creators of the show finally decided to cast him in the role.

Olivia Cooke is certainly not the first actress to lie about getting a role, and in the end, all’s well that ends well. Indeed, from there, the actor caught on: he watched Game of Thrones carelessly, and now he is obsessed with the series! There is no doubt that she has worked hard to bring out her best self on screen and introduce us to an older and more mature Alicent… and a more bitter one too!

House of the Dragon can be seen every week on OCS.
