The Rings of Power on Prime Video: Recap of the episode where it all goes down

A little hypnosis session with the credits to get you in the mood and dive back into the world of Rings of Power with episode 6, directed by Franco-Swedish Charlotte Brandström (Kokoriko!)

Adar and his orcs prepare to storm the Watchtower. He gives them a little pep talk, but we don’t really hear how he fares against Mel Gibson in Braveheart. When they enter, the seats are empty. Only Arondir is present and he releases the trap he has set for them. The tower collapses on evil creatures, including Adar. (Sympathy for orcs: 0)

On the high seas, three ships out of Númenor, Isildur does not sleep. He goes to the stables – where he is assigned – to share the apple with the horse Berek. On the next bridge, he finally meets Galadriel, who emerges in her shining armor. The boy is intimidated and fascinated at the same time. Galadriel recognizes Elendil, her father, in his gaze. It just happens. They exchange a few words. Elendil answers Galadriel’s foolish question about his wife by telling him that she died of drowning.

Back in Tirharad, the villagers prepare for a nightly confrontation with the orcs who escaped the watchtower’s trap. Arondir compares his army better. And Bronwyn does the same to Theo, telling him the words she used to say to him when he was little and scared. To give us back all the violins.

Before the battle, Arondir and Bronwyn share a moment together. More specifically, Arondir flirts with her. And it works! Finally they share their first kiss.

“What do I do with this now?” Asks for rounding

At nightfall, the orcs advance toward Tirharadh, and they are devilishly numerous. A new trap is in place. You have to surround them with fire and light them one by one with arrows. (Maybe a little light?) Obviously. Hand-to-hand combat ensues, causing great damage to the villagers, who have nothing in common with the experienced soldiers.

Arondir comes face-to-face with a giant orc who nearly knocks him out in two rounds. On the brink of death, he is saved in the extreme by Bronwyn, who impales the orc. And finally… the battle was won! Villagers claim victory. But the joy is short-lived. Arondir realizes that their attackers were not orcs, but Tirharad villagers who had surrendered to the Adar.

Another battle will resume. Arrows fly at midnight. Bronwyn is cut by two of them. They retreat to the tavern. Theo is tasked with stopping his mother’s bleeding. Bronwyn is bleeding out after Roundir pulls out the arrow. They burn him alive and he loses his pain.

He quickly regains consciousness, but in those few seconds, orcs surround the tavern, including Adar, and storm it. At the same time, we see Galadriel and her army of Númenóreans rushing on horseback towards a place we cannot yet see. Orcs enter the tavern and warn of the massacre. Adari comes in, still looking like she’s about to sneeze.

He wants an evil sword. Rounding off. Instead, Adar begins impaling the poor village one by one. When he is about to sacrifice Bronwyn, Theo gives up. He gives the sword to Adar. At this exact moment we hear the horses neighing and approaching. This Galadriel army is heading straight for the orcs. Dawn, men finally have the upper hand. Well, almost because the sun’s rays haven’t burned the orcs’ skin yet.

On one flank is the second squadron with Isildur and Queen Miriel. She allows the young man to join the fight, while his father Elendil finds himself in trouble. But it is Halbrand who saves him with a beautiful javelin throw.

Faced with the destruction of his orcs, Adari flees with his sword. And Galadriel sets off after her—not really happy—to celebrate Roundir. Halbrand joins him. He manages to cross with Adar and knock him off his horse. He’s going to finish him off with a spear to the throat. Obviously, they have a history together, although Adar doesn’t remember it. But Galadriel stops him and tries to reason.

Returning to the village, the battle is truly over. Galadriel takes Adar captive in a barn. It really is an elf. Tortured by Morgoth, he was transformed and became one of his minions. As Galadriel heard in the legends. These elves are the Moriondor, the Children of Darkness, and are actually the first Orcs!

Adar claims to have killed Sauron. An accusation that Galadriel does not believe. He goes into Jack Bauer mode and vows to destroy his entire species. He almost slits his throat, but this time Halbrand stops him. They talk together, sit in the woods and find a bond after fighting this battle together.

Back to life, back to the holidays. Bronwyn meets Queen Miriel, who congratulates her on her courage and leadership. She then introduces him to Lord Halbrand. Bronwyn recognizes in him the king who promised his people. Halbrand shakes his head. And everyone toasts to the health of the true king of the southern lands.

Miriel, Queen of Numenor and Fashion Week!

Galadriel handed the evil sword to Arondir. And the latter noticed Theo, in his corner. The boy doesn’t blame himself for giving in to Adari so much as he blames himself for losing the sword and the sense of power it gave him. Arondir then entrusts him with the sword to deliver to Númenor. After that, it’s up to them to drop to the bottom of the sea. But upon discarding the package, Theo realizes that it’s just a hatchet.

It is Waldreg who wields the sword. He forged it with his own blood and set it in the rock under the statue that represents him. Its action causes the dam to break and thousands of liters of water are absorbed into the valley.

Berek is agitated and Isildur is unable to calm him down. Elendil then explains to her that the horse expresses the pain that Isildur feels. With these few exchanged words, father and son finally meet each other. But the peace is short-lived. Water rises from the ground like geysers. He runs through the tunnels dug by the orcs until he reaches the bowels of the earth, where the lava burns. This causes a monstrous volcano to erupt. It looks like Pompeii.

Lava bombs rain down on people who are pulverized by the impact. There is general panic. Galadriel remains confused by the cataclysm heading straight for her. A night of black smoke descends upon Tirharad and swallows Galadriel.
