Marvel: Another Rebellion for Blade?

Although its director Basam Tariq left the project a few weeks into shooting, the script for “Blade” may be rewritten. This would delay the firing of shots. And the exit?

He’s still moving to the side of the blade! At least that’s what it says TheDirect. An orphan of its director Bassam Tariq, who officially left the project last week, the Marvel film about the famous vampire hunter will not go through the rewrite phase.

After working on Moon Knight (and while waiting for the animated series X-Men ’97, which he would co-create), Beau de Maio was called upon to cast the first black actress, Stacey Osei-Kufur (Watchmen). That the screenwriter was working on a Marvel movie. A screenplay set mostly in the 1920s.

A statement that should definitely be accepted as TheDirect is not known for its reliability. But this information would make sense, as this wouldn’t be the first time a project of this type has been revisited after its director’s departure, often due to differences in approach to the story.

If there are going to be massive rewrites, then it is unlikely that filming will begin in November, as was planned as recently as a week ago. And the delay will no doubt lead to the release of the Mahershala Ali-directed film, which stars Wesley Snipes, as it is currently expected to hit French cinemas on November 1, 2023.
