Ty Tennant’s first appearance in episode 6 of House of the Dragon is memorable to say the least. The 20-year-old son of David Tennant (Doctor Who, Broadchurch, Jessica Jones…) plays Prince Aegon Targaryen in the Game of Thrones prequel series.
From the second scene of the series, we see Ty (from behind) standing on his windowsill masturbating outdoors. Just then, rather awkwardly, he is surprised by his mother, Queen Alyssent Hightower (Olivia Cooke). But he does not comment on his work, he came to reprimand him because he played a bad joke on his brother.
The moment amused viewers on Twitter to say the least, but more generally they praised his performance:
Ty Tennant steals every scene #Dragon House This guy can act! Georgia and David should be so proud 💖

In a lucky coincidence for the shoot, Ty Tennant shares the poster with Matt Smith, who plays his uncle the Demon in the series and who became famous for replacing David Tennant in Doctor Who as the Eleventh Doctor. In addition, the young actor already appeared in an episode of The Five (ish) Doctors with Matt Smith in 2013.
Additionally, he is joined by two other Doctor Who alumni: Matthew Needham (Larris Strong) and Steve Toussaint (Lord Corlis Velarion), noting that the former’s performance has drawn many comparisons to the Game of Thrones character. Episode 7 marks Tai Tenat’s final appearance as Aegon.
House of the Dragon is currently available on OCS.
