A long-time order on the Amazon Prime Video platform, the second season of Rings of Power has just begun filming. The Lord of the Rings series, previously filmed in New Zealand, will now film in England, specifically at the new Bray studios opened by Amazon to film original productions there.
Although the first season of the series will air its final episode next week, we know very little about this season 2, except that it will introduce a brand new character: the elf Cirdan, believed to be one of the most ancient creatures in Middle-earth. It notably appeared in several of Tolkien’s novels, including The Return of the King and The Silmarillion.
