Will Spider-Man be in the ‘Madame Web’ spin-off currently filming? On-set photos suggest yes and her translator will be… Tahar Rahim.
Has Sony found a way to introduce Spider-Man into the Marvel Universe, where Spider-Man has so far been conspicuous by his absence, while feature films (Venom and Morbius) feature his adventures? According to photos taken on the set of Madame Web, one of the upcoming spin-offs, the answer is “Yes.” More precisely: “Yes but…”
Recently postponed to February 14, 2024 in our cinemas, Madame Web tells the story of Cassandra Webb, a blind and paralyzed woman, but gifted with extraordinary powers such as telepathy or clairvoyance, and who becomes Spider-Man’s mentor in the comics. . She is portrayed by Dakota Johnson in SJ Clarkson’s film and it is her double that we see in the photos next to Celeste O’Connor and Tahar Rahim.
If the role of the French actress is still under wraps, officially, these pictures may indicate the size. Because the suit he’s wearing looks like Spider-Man. That doesn’t mean Tahar Rahim will be the new Peter Parker, but he could be one of his clones: Kane Parker.
At any rate, that’s what a lot of people think when they see these pictures, even if her outfit isn’t exactly the same as in the comics. But there’s nothing stopping the film from taking liberties on this level. Another option: a certain Ezekiel Sims, whose powers are similar to Peter’s. It’s also possible that Tahar Rahim’s character is new to Madam Web, but created by mixing characteristics already present in others.
We will of course have to wait for confirmations, either in a trailer, a press release giving details about the cast or at the time of release. But Spider-Man could allow Sony to introduce Spider-Man into his own universe in a film that’s currently struggling to connect with the MCU without Peter Parker.
