Marvel: A character stronger than Thor introduced in Phase 4?

Phase IV of the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduces new characters as the films and series progress. And one of those faces might be stronger than Thor.

Warning, spoilers. Before continuing reading this article, it is recommended that you have seen “Wolf in the Night”.

After WandaVision, the MCU continues its Phase IV with multiple films and series. Recent projects to date include “Marvel Special” Werewolf by Night, a medium-length Michael Giacchino homage to the horror classic available on Disney+.

We follow a group of monster hunters who gather at the terrifying Bloodstone Temple after the death of their leader. During a strange ceremony dedicated to his memory, members of this secret organization participate in a mysterious competition, risking their lives in the hope of recovering a magical relic. This treasure hunt will lead them to a terrifying monster.

Among the main characters we find Jack Russell, a werewolf, who is portrayed by Gael Garcia Bernaland the monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone (Laura Donnelly). And it’s this new look introduced in the MCU that grabs our attention.

A character stronger than Thor in Marvel?

In Werewolf by Night, Elsa Bloodstone, the heiress of the Bluestone family, finds herself in possession of the Bloodstone, a gem that gives her yet-to-be-explored power, but which could have ramifications for the rest of the MCU.

And some hints and easter eggs hidden in the mid-length movie give us insight into the power of the bloodstone. One of the murals in Bloodstone Palace shows Odysseus Bloodstone, Elsa’s father, fighting a comic book-like version of Gore, aka the Butcher of the Gods.

This character is Thor’s famous nemesis, introduced and portrayed by Christian Bale in Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth installment of the superhero adventure, played by Chris Hemsworth. And if the Odysseus Bloodstone was able to measure up to Gore, it means that the owner of the Bloodstone has god-like abilities.

Incidentally, Werewolf by Night also showed the Blood Stone weakening the Man-Thing, a powerful being who is also the Guardian of the Reality Nexus in the comics. With her family heritage, monster-hunting abilities, and bloodstone, Elsa Bloodstone becomes a formidable character in the MCU who can stand shoulder to shoulder with, or even defeat, Thor.

Will he return for other Marvel projects? Maybe after that well Kevin Feigeexplained the head of Marvel Studios feature by Werewolf by Night “That they introduce a world that will definitely become important to the future of the MCU”.

We can speculate about the connections of the Wrewolf by Night universe to the rest of the MCU, but in the comics, Elsa Bloodstone discusses the Avengers, Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, as well as Blade and Thunder, the Marvel characters who are set to return or come to the MCU.

As of now, we don’t know if Elsa Bloodstone’s character will return, but Laura Donnelly is in any case, as she told us:

“Who knows what will happen to Elsa. Anyway, I hope there will be more movies or series with this fascinating character. If so, I hope my character will be even more evil, with even more black humor.

I also wish we could delve into his past, his childhood, to get a better understanding of who he is. How could he join other hero groups like the Midnight Sons for example. The possibilities are endless and I can’t wait to see what Marvel has in store for us.”

Werewolf by Night is available on Disney+.
