The remake of the horror classic “The Hill Has Eyes” and its sequel will enter the catalog of the Amazon Prime Video platform this Saturday, September 15!
On the list of rare remakes to achieve the level of quality of the work from which they are inspired, The Hill Has Eyes holds a prominent place. Released in 2006, this reinterpretation of Wes Craven’s classic (directed thirty years earlier) introduced to the general public a certain Alexandre Aja, already considered a master of horror in the eyes of the French thanks to his first electroshock film Haute Tension.
The Hill Has Eyes follows the misadventures of a group of American vacationers who are brutally attacked by a group of degenerate mutants severely deformed by nuclear tests that took place in the region a few years ago. Many of the liberties taken with the original film’s plot were confirmed by Wes Craven, moreover, as the producer of this remake.
Success obliging, a sequel was born in direct-to-video form; Directed by Martin Weiss, but this lesser quality sequel was written by Wes Craven himself, with the collaboration of his son Jonathan Craven.
The Hill Has Eyes and its sequel can be (re)discovered now on the Amazon Prime Video platform.
