Serialized Fest: We tell you everything about the Barcelona and Madrid editions

Today the Barcelona edition starts and in Madrid it will start on October 25.

              The 9th edition of the Serielizados Fest starts in Barcelona and will do so on October 25 in Madrid. We review all the details of the programming of the two appointments.

              Serialized Fest Barcelona (October 18-22)

              Those attending the festival will be able to enjoy the presence of the team of ‘Smiley’, the new Netflix series that adapts the acclaimed play by Guillem Clua (National Playwright Award 2022), which acts as showrunner in this fiction starring Miki Esparbe (‘The innocent’, ‘Kings of the night’) and Carlos Cuevas (‘Someone has to die’, ‘Merlí’). After the inaugural session on October 18, which will take place in the Phenomena Hall, the attending public will be able to enjoy a discussion with the artistic team.

              For the Serialized Fest Barcelona will also parade the ‘easy’ team (Movistar Plus+), a series about four women with functional diversity who want to emancipate themselves together in a flat in Barceloneta. The creator Anna R. Costa, and the actresses Natalia de Molina, Coria Castillo and Anna Marchessi, together with the producer Sandra Hermida, will offer a discussion with the public after the preview at the CCCB Theater on October 20.

              Another of the highlights of the Barcelona edition will be the screening of the documentary series ‘Osel’ (HBOMax) about the story of the event that shocked Spain in 1986, and inspired Bernardo Bertolucci’s film ‘Little Buddha’, when a boy from the Alpujarras was recognized as the reincarnation of a lama from Tibet. Osel himself will offer a discussion after the premiere with the director of the series, Lucas Figueroa.

              And as usual, the festival will dedicate a space to seriéphile tributes, in this case, with a tribute to one of the most legendary series on Catalan television: ‘Les Teresines’created by the company La Cubana for TV3 in 1992. On October 19, after a special screening at the CCCB’s Teatre, part of the ‘Les Teresines’ team will go on stage to talk with the audience.

              Anna Rujas, scriptwriter and protagonist of ‘Cardo’ ATRESplayer PREMIUM) will talk with Álex de Lucas about the creative process, development and importance of the soundtrack of the series.
              To close the Barcelona edition, the festival will host the preview of ‘La Ruta’ (ATRESplayer PREMIUM), a series that tells the story of the social and cultural phenomenon that was the ‘bakalao route’ of the 80s and 90s in Valencia. Created by Borja Soler and Roberto Martín Maiztegui, it stars Àlex Monner, Claudia Salas, Ricardo Gómez, Elisabet Casanovas and Guillem Barbosa. The session will be moderated by the journalist and DJ Luis Costa.

              Subsequently, the Serielizados Fest will hold a closing party at the CCCB’s Pati de les dones with sessions of music from the time by authentic DJs and road producers. The night will end at the Sala Apolo in Barcelona with a themed musical program at Nitsa.

              Serialized Fest Madrid (October 25-29)

              The International Series Festival will kick off its edition in Madrid on October 25 with the premiere of ‘I don’t like to drive’, the new series by Borja Cobeaga created for TNT. The opening ceremony will take place at the Film Academy, with the presence of Cobeaga himself, creator of the series, and the leading actors, Juan Diego Botto and Lucía Carballo.

              October 26the creators and voice actors of the new HBO Max animated series, ‘Poor devil’Miguel Esteban, Joaquín Reyes, Ernesto Sevilla, Helena Pozuelo and Gakian, will come to Madrid to present their preview and talk about a kid who is the Antichrist, at the Palacio de la Prensa.

              On October 27, CentroCentro will have three of the main dishes of the Madrid edition: Joe Penhall, creator of the brilliant ‘Mindhunter’, will offer a masterclass in collaboration with Nebrija University, in which he will explain the creative process that allows him to bring criminal masterminds and their hunters to life. On the same day there will be a special session on the locations of the new series ‘¡García!’ (HBO Max), in collaboration with the Madrid Film Commission, in which the creative team of this adaptation of the graphic novel will participate. Carlos de Pando, Sara Antuña and Salvador Yagüe will reveal some of the secrets of filming the series. Also in CentroCentro will take place the tribute to the 20 years of ‘La Hora Chanante’ (in collaboration with DAMA), with the presence of Joaquín Reyes, Ernesto Sevilla and Pepe Colubi.

              On Friday October 28in the CentroCentro Auditorium, Bob Pop will lead a round table of usual suspects formed by Candela Peña, Pepón Nieto and Eduardo Casanova, in which they will discuss and confess their television likes and dislikes. What is said in this session will remain in this session.

              On the closing day, viewers will be able to enjoy a discussion with the creative team of the ‘Reina Roja’ series (Prime Video), which adapts the best seller by Juan Gómez Jurado. The colloquium, organized in collaboration with FOTOGRAMAS, will be attended by the showrunner Amaya Muruzábal, the director Koldo Serra and the protagonists Vicky Luengo and Hovik Keuchkerian.
