“Dahmer” renewed for two more seasons by Netflix

The series “Dahmer: An American Cannibal” will win two new seasons by Netflix, which will have to focus on new real and terrifying cases.

As Jeffrey Dahmer’s story ended in season one, the series is expected to become an anthology, with each season telling a different story, such as “American Crime Story,” another true crime series from producer Ryan Murphy.

The English title explains a lot about the future of production. Although in Brazil the series received the title “Dahmer: An American Cannibal”, in the United States it is known as “DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”, or “DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”, in translation. free.

The expectation, therefore, is that the word “Monster” gives meaning to the new anthological franchise, especially after Netflix does not reveal what the stories of the new seasons will be, but states that they “will tell the stories of other monstrous figures that affected society” .

The renewal of the series is not surprising, mainly due to the resounding success of the production, which is expected to reach the billion hours seen in the coming weeks. In addition to “Dahmer”, another series created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan has been renewed by Netflix: “Welcome to the Neighborhood”, another recent hit involving a real crime.

Bela Bajaria, head of Netflix’s global TV, said: “Audiences cannot take their eyes off ‘Dahmer’ and ‘Welcome to the Neighborhood’. The creative team of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan in “Dahmer” along with Eric Newman in “Welcome to the Neighborhood” are masterful storytellers who have captivated audiences around the world. The back-to-back strength of these two series is due to Ryan’s original and distinctive voice, which created cultural sensations and we are thrilled to continue to tell stories in the “Dahmer” and “Welcome to the Neighborhood” universes.

The first season of “Dahmer: An American Cannibal” stars Evan Peters as the infamous serial killer. Made up of ten episodes, the season is largely told from the perspective of Dahmer’s victims and delves into the incompetence and apathy of the police that allowed the killer to continue a killing spree for several years. It is available in full on the Netflix catalog.
