Keanu Reeves is back as John Wick! Collider reports that the actor will appear in a film titled Ballerina, a spin-off of the John Wick franchise starring Ana de Armas. Directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld, Lucifer) and written by Shay Hatten.
According to the publication, Reeves has already started filming in Prague. It is not yet clear whether Reeves will have a cameo or a full-fledged role in the upcoming film. Another actor from the original John Wick, Ian McShane, will also star in the film. He plays Winston again. The cast also includes Laurence Fishburne, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Rina Sawayama, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins and Clancy Brown.
Almost simultaneously with this news, Ana posted a selfie from the dressing room to her story and wrote that “yesterday was the first day of filming “Ballerina” and it was amazing.”
“Ballerina” is the story of a young killer who wants to avenge her family. This will be the second spin-off of the John Wick film franchise. A prequel-series “The Continental” is also being prepared for release, in the center of which will be the famous hotel and its manager Winston (McShane).
When the film with de Armas will be released, it is still unknown. John Wick 4 will hit theaters on March 24th.
